While the new areas have been officially open for about a year now, I finally made it out to the Air Force Museum, at Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton OH, today.

They have opened a huge new area, and now have things alot more organized. There is still the remote area with some planes, but the new planes on display are amazing. They have a F-117, and B-2 on display. FWIW, the B2 was the one they test the wing on, until failure. It took 160% load before failing.
They also have some of the drones, and unmanned recon planes on display.

From the Wright Flyer to latest of tech, it's an interesting place.

As I live where the 3rd largest collection of aircraft are (Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum) I can attest to what one may see at an air museum. There is so much history that goes into these museums. I would highly recommend anyone going to either wright, pensacola, or the smithonian if they ever get a chance.

I've been to the Dayton AFB museum years and years ago. Quite an amazing place. I went with my Dad who is a Vietnam USAF Vet, so he was able to teach me more than the tour ever could.

????

Any "Flying Wings" there yet? I was there back in 2000 during a trip to the Trans Am Nationals and only saw a few pictures. Amazing places for sure!!!!
