I just found a rubber boot laying out in my driveway that came off my T-type. This is the rubber boot that keeps water from splashing on the ball joint itself and more importantly retains grease in the ball joint. At least one side was gone on my other TR, my GN, but now I have replaced the upper A-arms and ball joints with tubular units and I get to start over. These boots don't seem to last long before they fall apart or off. The rubber they use seems to be not compatible with grease or dirt. There's nothing wrong with the ball joints, nor was there anything wrong with the ball joints on my GN other than the boot or boots (can't remember) were gone. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this problem other than to replace ball joints that don't need replacing?
