I'd prolly set it on #3 and forget about it...

On second thought I am about to ditch my car !! Mr buick helped me with my IAC and TPS and the car idles good but not great sometimes it will die but not nearly like before it can get my around BUT it is only 10 pounds of boost on setting 2 If i set it on #3 it will only idle for a couple of seconds so I bought a custom chip from Joe L. a 93 chip and it wont idle for nothing I did everything for the thing to idle and it just wont Even with my poston thumb chip on the 93 setting #3 but stock is fine ????? If worse comes to worst how much do you all think I can get for my car :( I am going to try to run my tps high tomorrow and see what happens I have been running at the most .44 IAC numbers seem alright 20-40 BL109

Hey justin you'll never get that car to idle untill you swap around your throttle body , every since I put the intercooler on it was goodbye idle I'm not sure how it is done but I need to know also I was hoping that someone would post everything needed to do the job

Idle issues

Justin, I thought you said the car was running good after that last adjustment? OK try this, when the car is idling tap the MAF (lightly) with the handle end of a screw driver, if it all of a sudden it starts to run poorly the MAF is bad. List all the readings on the scanner again, so we can see whats going on. The MAF at idle should be about 5 to 6 at 750 - 800 RPM. If less than 5 you may also have a MAF problem. You should see a steady rise in the MAF numbers as you increase the throttle. At WOT you should see numbers around 200 -255. In answer to the post about relocating the throttle body, my car runs great with the throttle body in its stock location. When the newly designed manifold gets into production that the hot air guys are working on, then it would be worth the effort to change. Was it running ok in position 2 and then when you changed to position 3 it started running bad? What are your O2 readings at idle? I know they will be changing but if you see alot of 800+ numbers you are too rich. Is you vacuum still reading 16" at idle?

Move the TB to the pressure side and as close to the intake as possible and it will idle fine, spool much faster, and make more power. I did this nearly 4 years ago and can't believe I ever drove it with the TB before the turbo.

move TB as close to intake as you can

I moved my TB as close as I could to the intake maifold, she runs REAL GOOD at idle with super street manners. I cant belive this car is sooo good mannered .----Jack

I got the car to idle again alright I had to turn the throttle screw clockwise alot till the iac was 00-10 I still have to adjust because my TPS is .46-.48 (cant remember right now) I did not have time today I adjusted to idle took it to the store ran good then when I was done she did not want to idle in park I had to give it gas and pop it into gear. The stop and go driving stalled the first 2 times then was good the other 4x. I am running the Joe Lubrant chip right now not the thumbwheel. I do have a 2800 stall will that make a difference and driveability. I do have the chip burnt to a TA-48 2800 stall,30# injectors. Hopefully I can get it to idle like my thumbwhell chip on setting #2 tomorrow

Idle issues

I know you guys want him to move the throttle body, but that is not what he has been saying. Before all the problems started and his brother was around to help him the car, it ran great with the set up he has. It runs fine for awhile then the problem starts. Even if he changes the throttle body the problem will still be there. He needs to solve the problem and once the car is running good, if he wants to change the throttle body fine. I want him to eliminate the problem first and the more changes you throw into the mix the more chance for new problems to start. Go back to the basics first. Get all the information when it runs good then see which things change when it starts running bad. Let us see what the readings are so we can help you. Always set the TPS first then the IAC, you may need to do it a few times if the TPS changes on you. Get the TPS down to .42 if it gets too high your idle speed will take off. What happend when you lightly tapped the MAF? What are the readings on the MAF?

The MAF seems ok it reads 7 when it does idle right for awhile got TPS to .44 the IAC is set low still from 0-10 in park that is the only way it can idle with this Joe Lubrant chip. When I have the thumbwheel on setting 2 IAC's are 20-30 with no problem and alright street manners. This chip I have runs 16 pounds of boost and hauls butt. It is tuned good enough right now for the track 11 miles away:D This wednesday.I will post my time wed. night

I am going to do a experiment, after I run my car the next week I am taking off the INTERCOOLER   and running it again I am going to make a new post for that one (on off intercooler 1/4 E.T) I am going to have alot of spare time the next couple of weeks. I am going to see how much streetablity I can get and how slow it will get. I do not have a sperco intercooler maby that can be a factor on my performance ???? It is going to be a busy month

Instead of wasting your time on pulling the IC why not relocate your tb to the pressure side like has been reccomended???Tune it and run it.

I guess some just cant see the forest cause of all the tree's:rolleyes:

I dont have the tools for that and the person who built my intercooler I will not let him touch my car with a 10 foot pole. It took him 4 months to build the intercooler and he moved his shop on me it took a month to even find it I even made a police report. When I get it back there is oil in the intercooler vacum lines are messed up, NO Y for the boost, brother moves away 1 week later, 2 1/2 weeks later cam lopes out $1600 down the drain for intercooler ported intake and aluminum radiator. I will wait for the new intakes to come out hopefully. If the intakes dont come through I might relocate the TB. My car does run pretty good with the thumbwheel chip in so I really dont think I will need to relocate but you never know ????Plus the way my intercooler is set up I think It could be a pain in the a#% to do.

Can someone send me some pics of the throttlebody relocated I might consider it I found someone in San Antonio that can fabricate me some pipe. The pic at the top of the website is not what I am looking for.

Well I just ran the car time was REACTION 1.04 E.T 14.58 if I would have not slept at the light I would have got a 14.02 I could not hold but 3-4 pounds at the light. My car could have been a high 13 :D . This was the first time I ran it with my intercooler and upgraded turbo and the results are about the same ???? Today when my car got HOT it ran a 14.8 with a good reaction time ? 2 years ago without the intercooler hot it ran the same 14.8. The best time without intercooler was a 14.30 with intercooler and turbo 14.02 not that much differents but then again today when it was cool I did not launch hard and I was shifting at 4500 with a GN107T cam I can pull to 5000 RPM but I did not so I know It cound have been a high 13 for sure. ( I AM STILL TAKING THE INTERCOOLER OFF;) )

THE INTERCOOLER IS GONE !!!!!!!!!!!!! and the car runs great other than exhause leaks. The idle is amazing without the intercooler and does not die I guess the intercooler was not for my car:( maybe if it was made by sperco it would have made a differents. I will make a run at the track in about 2-6 weeks. The car still runs strong.

hey justin is u werent runnin the spearco setup which this whole time i thought u were what intercooler setup r u running?or should i say were running?

I was running a custom fabricated intercooler made by my local performance shop I have a pic of it click on the link on this forum.

I ran at the track and it was a bad day 15.5-16-2 I could not boost off the line and I was running pump gas . I have a burn chip to 2800 stall and only can get my car to about 2200 with brake and gas and takes forever to boost off line it is realy slow with my joe L. chip I am going to use a poston (caspers) thumbwheels chip like before instant boost off the line plus I will have xylene in the tank .THE DAMM STOCK CARS RUN 15.5 WTF !!! mayby I dont have a 2800 stall ???

I think you keep getting ahead of yourself.I looked at the pics of your set-up.I wonder how it could even run with all the mickey mouse vacume lines. My car is stock,I use every hookup on the throttle body except 1(the largest). It looked like a nightmare of loose fitting,T's everywhere,Probably not hooked up right or even not at all vacume lines. My car pulls 18-20 inches vacume in park at 775 RPM.When I cruise at 60 MPH on FLAT road it pulls 10 inches then. You definitely have vacume issues. You said in close to your last post its running good except for the exhaust leaks.NEW headers,up-pipe,crossover and it has leaks? That is why it won't build boost at the line.LOW RPM boost is alot harder to get than high RPM boost. Why it stalls when you stop fast? Its all the vacume leaks and IAC is having a hard time finding home. When you stop fast it don't have time to compensate. If the intercooler is OFF NOW,how did you get the larger turbo to mate with the intake,I don't think the compressors are made right for the stock turbo to intake adapter.Probably is leaking there too!You NEED to get the vacume lines RUN CLEAN.DONT USE T's use the vacume block on the throttle body. You probably have the wastegate solenoid,EGR plumbing ALL WRONG.Look on E-bay for the stock steel vacume line set-up.I didn't see that on your car either.Good luck!I think if you get ALL of that fixed you will see amazing results.P.S. Your TPS is Wrong.Mine is a consistent .44 and 4.68 WOT.Hint:You might have to shave off some of the hard plastic half moons on back of TPS and push it straight up before you lock it down to get the WOT reading. I DID! LATER Mike:(

Those are pics from 2 years ago when my car was not running and I knew nothing about them every thing is hooked up right just like the diagram except the canister is deleted. I will hunt down my exhaust leaks this week. the reason I have leaks with my new stuff is because my car sat for 2 years. My car has been running for about maby 2 months. MY turbo is from precisionturbo and uses my same turbo hiousing.
