just got this car 3 weeks ago. Drove it 2400 miles to get it home. Doing trans. service today and see that it has an AC 16930 4-86 5-2000. i think it is the texas AC. They are now out of business. I emailt CPT just in case. Any way being it is a NL up converter. I thought you pulled the TCC out, this one is still there.

It should be an Art Carr NL that stalls at 3000 RPM at 0 PSI.
The real Art Carr? or Texas?
The stock TCC Apply Valve is removed and a Non-Lockup Valve is installed. The Solenoid can remain in place.

Did you remove the Retaining Clip & Valve Stop to see if it's the stock Valve in there?

I pushed up on it to see if it would move. It is solid, so it must be ok. It works fine too, drove it several hundred miles.
When/Why did Art Carr Performance Products of Abilene TX go out of business?

How do you like this converter what else is done to the car? There is one in the for sale section I want to know if it is worth it. How does the nl feel around town and on the freeway. Excessive slippage on top end?
I bought this car 30 days ago. I flew to Wash state and drove it 2400 miles to get home. It ran perfect. I did not know about the converter untill i looked. The last owner did not know about it either.It spools the gt6132e without any problem. i just put it on since i have been back.
