AC Compressor ??'s

What is the difference between an R4 and LTR4 compressor. Can I use an R4 on my 87 GN converted to R134. Any help would be great!!

Your stock compressor is an R4. I've never heard of an LTR4 so I'm guessing it's either an aftermarket model or a variant of the R4. I would think if it was a variant it would be RLT4 though. Just make sure it is the same as your old part. Make sure it has the cut off switch on the back side and the correct connector on the clutch.

Hey fish thanks for the reply. Where I got that part number from was sites like O'reilly, Napa... they call out the LTR4 for the turbos. Best I can find is that the LT is a lightweight... I dunno.... My AC now is acting intermittent but works well with the RPM's up and driving. Other than the condenser and evaporator I have changed everything else... So I may just deal with it and spend the money on and Alkycontrol... :biggrin: Thanks again
