Hey guys,

I just bought a nice R-12 and R-134a compatible AC manifold gauge set. I noticed that the low side service port on my '86 appears to be a 1/4" and the high side accumulator port is 5/16". The fittings in my kit are 5/16" F. Does anybody have a link to where I can buy an adapter fitting? My system is still holding a little bit of R-12 and I plan to keep it that way until I find a reason to open up the system. Thanks in advance.

My high side port adapter is about 40 years old, so good luck on finding one?

Most GN's I have serviced with R-12 can be evacuated and filled with the low side port only.

Thanks for the response. I was planning on just filling it on the low side, but that's the problem. I can't hook up there. Do you know what the size of the fitting service port is? from what I'm reading 1/4" seems to be the standard, but it also seems like hardly anything was standardized at that time! I'm going to test a few different sized 45* flare fittings from work to see which ones fit. Hopefully that will give me a sure idea what adapter I need.

Edit: My bad... it's the high side that I cannot connect to. Sorry.
