acceptable outputshaft play?????

how much play is acceptable in the output shaft?? i am trying to track down a grinding noise. pulled the shaft and grabbed the splines, it has lots of play to it.

how hard is a bearing change???

Yeah I want to know as well ;-)

And, can you replace the bushing with the tranny in the car? In the book they have the tranny completely apart to push it out. Seems like a lot of work for a $1.00 bushing replacement.

When the drive shaft is out there is supposed to be a lot of play.When the drive shaft is in, there shouldnt be any slop.
