Looking for a good mechanical boost gauge that's fairly accurate and was wondering if anyone has some suggestions. Everybody I know typically uses autometer. Have also read good stuff about Stewart Warner. Defi, zeitronix, and aem are not in the budget at this time so I'd like to keep my purchase under 1 bill. any other recommendations are welcome.

Thank you in advance!

I have never had a problem with Stewart Warner gauges. I have used their boost gauges on several different boosted cars and I love them.

Think I'm going to give them a try. wonder if they make a liquid fill style? My sunpro is reading about 2psi higher than my dyno tuners zietronix map.

The number doesn't matter as long as you use the same gauge when making changes. Its just a number, I would be more concerned about detonation than anything else. I have VDO and they work fine.

VDO here too and it works just fine for me.

Probably a stupid question but whe getting a boost guage is the vacuum/boost guage necessary or just the boost?

Vac. helps in diagnosing stuff, sometimes stuff you don't want to really know like when your cam. is flat.

It usually affects the sweep range (width) of the boost section a bit but both types are easy enough to read.
