Hey guys,

I was wondering if you could help me. I just purchased a 1998 Expedition and I was wondering where I could find the actual weight of the truck and the towing capacity. I was originally thinking of getting a trailer for my Buick but now am entertaning the possibility of towing it to the shows.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

That info should be in the owners manual.
If you don't have one, open the drivers door and look at the
sticker in the door jamb for GVW.
The hitch should also have a sticker for max capacity.

Thanks for the reply.

When I read the sticker inside the driver's door, I see the following:

GVWR = 7200 lbs
Front GAWR = 3450 lbs
Rear GAWR = 4228 lbs

Is this telling me that the Expedition is 7200 lbs?

I thought they were around 5000-5500 lbs.

Thanks again for the input.

Hey buddy tell us your name.

your GVWR total is only 7200 LBS legal weight TOTAL-

you can only tow your GVWR INCLUDING the payload, so be careful what you tow, 2200 aint squat for your truck-

Im sure you can tow alot more than your GVWR, but why would you want to risk that?

you got a 2x dint cha?

dont worry, i have a 99 stroke with a 2x with only 15,000:rolleyes:
