A little background, my 94 awd Eclipse, 4 cylinder puts out very little torque..The factory torque converter is 11"..A typical re-stall works great for small turbos..Larger turbos need a shot to spool the turbo on the line..
This company,
http://sinisterspeed.net/?page_id=15
which make great smaller converters for this car, claims adding weight raises footbrake stall..
If adding weight helps, then why go to a smaller converter ?
I'm ordering one soon, just trying to figure out if I need the extra weight or not..

Thanx Dusty..It didn't make sense to me at all....

There is some stall change that could be seen if you added a whole lot of weight to the stator IF the converter has a sprag. It would not be large enough IMO to waste spending the money on. I'd much rather have a lighter converter than a heavier one.
