I am looking for advice on cleaning the emblems on my 87 GN. It has been sitting in a garage in Houston, TX, for over 15 years. I don't want to replace them; I would like to keep everything original.

I have seen that before... I think a jeweler would have an idea or two. These are basically cloisonné crest so maybe someone in that industry could come up with something.

Mine has the same issue from being in storage. The chrome turned green. I am going to tape off around the emblems, then try some flitz metal polish on a tiny dremel buffing wheel. Have you cleaned yours yet? If so what did you do and how did it work out?

I tried some vinegar with no luck. Mine is pretty well into the metal. Would be interested to see if you get any results. Think my only option is to buy new ones.

That's weird that happened to those emblems, yet I looked at a GN that sat outside of a garage for almost 20 years, and the emblems looked great. We were actually talking about how the emblems feared so well, LOL. Must be a 'constant' moisture issue...
