I know this thing sells for like 70 bucks but am wondering if you only have to buy it once. Do you think the only thing you have to change is the filter element inside or replace the whole thing?

Bigger as I recall for the Aeromotive. There are three of us building 600-800 HP motors for our SyTys. One guy pits for a Sprint car team and sourced a fuel filter from their supplier that was much less expensive. Its about two thirds the length and similar diameter to an empty roll of paper towel. We run them pre and post pump. These things, Aeromotive included, are NOT stock upgrades. They are meant to be part of a complete upgraded fuel system. You could retrofit them I suppose. But I wouldn't think its worth the hassle.

You need -10an o-ring pump fittings for both sides. Dont bother to put it on a stock system.

But to answer your question, yes its a replaceable element.

You need -10an o-ring fittings for both sides of the filter, and its indeed longer. To echo Dean, its not a replacement filter, its meant for a complete fuel system.

Filterz?/

Running a 10 micron filter on both the inlet and outlet of the aftermkt pump will cause cavitation problems w/ the pump. The pre pump filter has to be in the 70 to 100 micron size so it does not hinder flow to the pump..BTDT and talked to the Areomotive engineers at length..
ALSO, it's a good idea to have a check valve in the line.. AFTER the pump, before the 10 micron filter.. DO NOT put the ck valve between the tank and pump....
Aeromotive suggests -12 inlet to the pump.. -10 out...
