After market boost gage?

If you hook a after market boost gage up do you still need to have the map sensor hose hooked up? And if not will it batter if you just leave it unhooked or does it need to be plugged ?

The map sensor you are ferring to the stock one? If so, it runs the dash gage, and has no ecm input. If you unhook it, the hose needs to be plugged, or there's a massive vac leak.
Not sure what the aftermkt gae is you are talking about...Mechanical, electric??
