Aftermarket engine wiring harness

Has anyone found a reasonably priced replacement engine wiring harness? My original is showing it's age. I opened up some looms and found wires that look like the twist tie on a bag of bread. Why do people think this is a good way to make an electrical connection? There's also broken, probed and coroded wires so, i'd like to replace it~ Thanks for any help, Mike

Reasonably priced? LOL! Good luck.

I would go through it all and replace any corroded wire sections. Solder and re-insulate. It's a tedious job but you would be looking at $800 for a complete engine harness.
