Aftermarket shifter with turbo 400 with stock console.

Does anyone know if I can run a aftermarket shifter with for a turbo 400 and still be able to use the factory console. I am thinking about swapping my 200r4 for a reverse manual turbo 400 with transbrake, but I want to keep the factory look as much as possible. Who here has done it and with what shifter did you use ? Thanks

Many posts on this and lots of pictures. I have a reverse manual 400 with trans brake and a B&M mega shifter.
Sometimes there is no formula or instruction sheet. You kinda make it up as you go.

B+M quicksilver .. my choice for transbrake th400 ...will work with the 2004r or th400/th350 standard and rvmb ..... no clumsy release levers or ugly boots to look at and you get to keep the stock shifter plate

Hey pacecarta I read a writeup you did on a turbo 400 swap but I didn't see you mention anything on the flexplate. Does the stock flexplate need to be modified or changed with the 400 swap ?

B&m quick silver. It came with the car and works great. Was mounted ontop of the plate but i wanted it below too. Chopped a 1 1/2 off the stick also. In the process of turning down a t handle to look close to stock. Any chance someone can measure how wide there handle is? I took a guess but it looks too long.

Ended up making another one an inch shorter. If anyone wants the first one i posted ill send it to you just give me your address. I can turn it down the inch also if you want.

B&m stealth pro ratchet, im not the first to do this but im very happy with how it came out. Just had to cut off the mounting pads for the stock shifter and bolt it straight to the trans tunnel then wire up a park/neutral and reverse switches.
