air Temp dosnt change on Scanmaster :(

Air temp is not changing on my scan master
Is this just a bad Air Temp Sensor?? I have not replaced it yet but it always says air temp is 128* and it never changes. I installed a cold air (Big Mouth) kit and that is when I notice it should not be that hot What problems could this be causing if any also??
Just want to see if anyone else has had an issue like this before I buy another part lol.

i once found a resistor inline with the ats wiring about 3 inchs from the sensor and it went bad. i was told this resistor fooled the computer in to thinking the air was cooler and add more fuel. when removed it worked fine.

Ya I kinda figuerd it didnt but I still want it fixed so the car runs its best. I just pulled it out and looked at it and its kinda black looking so I think its bad.
I will also chech for the resistor inline with it and see if it may be the problem. Just not up for spending any more money if I dont have to sales are down for me and funds are way tight
