Can someone please post what their car ran on Alky as opposed to off the Alky. Also if ur setup is not in ur signature please give me an idea of turbo, injector, and stall sizes. Thanks guys:confused:
 
My experience

I'll post my results in MPH leaving out ETs since I started running on real street radials when I converted to alchy.

Before Alchy - Race Gas - 112 MPH (22 psi boost)
With Alchy & pump gas - 112 MPH (22 psi boost)
Without Alchy - Pump gas - 105 MPH (17 psi boost)

My combo - stock 160,000 mile short block and heads.
12 sec recipe (hot wire, big FP, K&N, adj FP reg)
Red's 100 chip
TA-49
Blue Tops
Stock stretch Intercooler
 
Checked some old time slips

With the above combo:

On street radials (KUMHOs)
pump gas no alchy - 13.30s at 105 MPH
pump gas & alchy - 12.70s at 112 MPH
 
my best mph in the 1/8 was 94 on race gas/convetor locked and 23-24 psi and my first and only run on alky was 95.8 with no convertor locked in similar weather. It feels very strong on the alky
 
With my almost stock setup (turbo, injectors, intercooler etc) I was running 13.7 on pump gas. With alky and pump gas I was running 12.7.

I haven't ran my current combo with race gas cuz I was running 12.0 @ 114 with a 2.1 60' on alky and pump gas, and I kept getting warnings at the track not to run any faster or I'd be kicked out.

When I put my kit on about 5 years ago or so, my car was all stock with 150,000 miles on it. The addition of alky and nothing else, in street trim, netted me 5 tenths. 13.8 to 13. 3. Can't remember the mph. Not bad for a $150 bolt on. ;)
 
10.34 @ 121 mph as my fuel pump wire grounded out at the 1000'mark. Previous pass was a 136mph with locked converter.
2000 trans am daily driver with 93/alky 3.23 rear 3800# raceweight
 
I went from 11.75 @ 113 on race gas to 11.37 @ 116 on alky. It did allow me to run more timing and a little more boost than the race gas. That was probably why my car ran faster. All things being the same you will run faster with the alky because you can turn the wick up a little more safely.
 
I changed NOTHING on my car and went from 12.3-4 to 12.2-1 So I gained a tenth or so on a warmer day(70 vs 85)..... Same 60' .


Eric Marshall chip on same day netted .2-.3 in the 1/4 and when I finally tuned the combo all out with boost,timing and fuel, it netted me my 11.34 pass. That looks about to be a full second off the 1/4 mile time:D

Ed, I gave up on challenging you for now. I had everything ready to go when I decided not to run the timing that was required. I wimped out:o ....So TE61 and 9/11 billet 3200-3400 stall and new race prepped trans should be fun for now. ;)

NHRA figured that if a factory car can hit 11s, it must be safe enough. Ours yeah, are probably not.
 
The 11.49 rule applies to our cars too. Go read the NHRA rule book for 2005.
 
I have been kicked out at 11.56 last week and I ran 11.34 last year....Whatup with that? 2000 on up sounds really strange tho. If you had a 98 or 99 you could tell them..."Oh, ummm...its a 2000"..... Very strange.

I will call the local track and see.

JP I have unless since the new addition 4 month or so changed. SO I really do not think our car can do it. Plus most everyone who has a TR has some kind of mod so that disqualifies them.

Yes, they did change it from the original version. If anyone is getting kicked out still they should print off a copy to take with them to their strip and protest it.
