Guys,I'm installing my Razors alky kit in my '86 GN and have hit a snag.
I want to wire up the 'power injection' bulb. This has red and black wires. My problem is that in my kit the bulb is not attached to the black and red wires. Is this normal or is it a fault i.e has the bulb been separated in transit?
More specifically, do I need it?
The instructions seem to indicate that bulb and wiring come as one; the same way the low alky level bulb is supplied.

It should come with the wires attached but they break off easily. I made a socket out of an old bulb holder

Thanks for the quick response, hadn't thought of a bulb holder!
I assume that this is the bulb that shows power on?
Been on the job for some hours now, sat back with a beer and a rethink and time to check all is correct:cool:

I just took one of the black holders that hold IP bulbs and modified it.

Do I actually need the 'power injection' led? I note that Razor mentions ...'if you use it...' in his sticky at the top of the board?
I figure that low alky bulb is required as is the turn on' green to red signal as this indicates that alky is spraying correctly

The Power Injection bulb is not needed for the system to work. Its an added "gizmo" so the light illuminates when the pump see's power. You can use a regular 194 bulb and attach the wires to it. Just a 12v glass bulb. I use to be able and get bulbs that had the wires attached to them.. now these bulbs are just fragile. Wiggle the wires too much.. and they can break.

Again a not needed deal. The bi-colored turnon one.. that one is needed.

Thanks Julio, appreciate the clarification. Wiring the 3 bar map sensor tomorrow. Might be back with another question...my GNs an '86;)!

Hey Julio,

Can you elaborate on how to attach the 2 wires to the 194 bulb without using a bulb holder socket? Just solder to each place at end of bulb then straddle bulb in rubber grommet to attach at IP? I'm midway in my kit installation and ready to wire very soon. Thanks!

Correct. Sometimes you may need to scrape using a razor blade the nickel off the wire for the solder to stick.

Thanks for your kind and detailed reply Julio! Any idea on the gauge wire needed for the 2 wire leads from the bulb?
