I want to run alky, but should I wait till my new motors broke in? Or it doesn't matter:confused:
TIA
Lorenzo

well

well you wont be beating on the car till its broke in so it doesnt matter. i would wait till u get everything worked out get a good tune going then turn the alky on.

the engine needs breaking in.......

Well it will need to be broken in when I get it back together in a few weeks:D
Just wondering if I should just wait on the alky till after the first 500 miles or
install it now before I even fire her up.
Opinions are appreciated:)
Thanks,
Lorenzo

You could install it now and just not use it till the 500 is over. If you have to wait for the motor to get done it will give you something to do.

Broke my engine in down the 1/4 mile, Break them in the way you are going to drive them I have always heard

Man you guys are brutal.. I thought I was bad firing it up Sat nite.. then driving to track Sunday AM to race it as break in. :D

Alky is only needed when you start racing it. If the motor is roller cam.. only thing to set in is the rings. Most shops do a few hard WOT pulls on a dyno.. There is nothing else to break in.

Now if I was a machine shop.. I'd tell you 24K miles for break in.. dont want to see the engine until then :)

;)

broke mine in in the storage unit, put it on the transbrake, 5psi, let it idle for 5 min, tbrake 10psi, ready to roll

billet roller for this build............

I am running a 206-206 billet roller for this build. So All I am looking at is break in the rings then.
Thanks,
Lorenzo

My new motor, that I just put in my car I was rolling with 16lbs of boost day one and the next day after about 60 miles I was running 21lbs!
