Definatly meth. But it's also harder to come by. Atleast for me it is. Denatured alcohol is Only $15 gallon and is at any lowes or home depot. That's why I use it

Actually the term alky is from Sunoco. They call it "Racing Alky" and alky being short for Alcohol which is methanol in the original spirit of the name. So alky=meth

There is ethanol which is the denatured. Its ONLY 15 bucks a gallon at Home Depot vs 7-8 per gallon for racing grade methanol. Or cheaper depending on sources for it.

You can buy methanol at Walmart in the HEET bottle which are in the automotive dept. About 1 dollar per pint=8 per gallon.

Wally Worlds in warm climates probably will not carry it because it is used to keep fuel lines from freezing.

What's your location? The auction is listed out of the country. There's a sticky at the top of the alky section that lists where you can get methanol. I'd much rather buy from a local individual that have to have it shipped. If the sticky doesn't list someone near you, try the yellow pages for racing go karts or a local sprint car track, there's going to be some meth near one of those. 2 weeks ago I paid $4.00 a gallon for VP Methanol.

Cost is cheaper, doesnt stink when it burns, can make more power..if you put more squeeze to the tuneup.

Those are a few benefits.

Make sure your system will tolerate methanol before you switch. Contact the vendor and make sure. Not all kits can tolerate methanol. So before we go making blanket statements one is better than the other.. need to be sure. If it doesnt, then methanol would be a poor choice to switch to. make sense?

Some of the older kits have in tank Pumps that wont be very happy if you feed it pure Methynol

Yeah I have read that heet (yellow only) is 99% methanol.

Razor , have you heard of using HEAT. Anything else in it that might not work witch your system. Is using heat still more effective then using denatured?
