When you have a fast car you shouldn't feel the need to "prove it" every time. Walk away, let the guy think you're scared, who cares. Let him wreck his Monte on the street, our cars (and lives) are actually worth something.

The worst part is that you're here saying "no more of that until I get better tires". Uh... how about no more of that, period. Keep the racing off the streets. Doesn't even sound like you bothered to find a secluded area for your race considering you mention having to steer in between oncoming cars. Let's leave the fatal street racing wrecks to the 16 year old Honda drivers.

Saw a thread on here where something similar happened to a board member. The Bolt portion of the T-Bolt clamp on the up pipe was pointed towards the DS of the car instead of the PS.

Glad to hear the only thing lost was a pair of underwear.

When I first got my car, the previous owner put these silly anodized aluminum "race pedals" over top of the gas and brake pedals. One day when my brother was driving it, the corner edge of it caught the carpet and the gas pedal was jammed to the floor. Luckily, his knee jerk reaction was to shut the ignition off so we didn't go anywhere.

When I got got home I immediately cut those stupid death pedals off and threw them in the garbage.

I had just read about the cruise control recall in an old write up, I had it unhooked last night and although its laying down it coulda helped jam something. The TB is fresh 62mm from Steve, I tinkered around with it a little today while the rain fell and no issues there

T6Chicago, When we launched ... not a soul in front, behind or a long way down road comming from other way, I couldnt agree more though but we all know how good the (walk away) sounds in theory, but i need to mello my ass out

Before the rain came in I drove to the spot and checked the tire marks in the road, I seen 3 sets of 360 spin but couldnt get pic with camera phone, first set I slid into the spin then 2 were a nascar victory grass brody.

Like turbofabricator, I also had a similar issue with my cruise control. The car just started accelerating on the freeway for no reason. I think that the cc switch MAY have been moved into the "on" position when I flipped the turn signal, but I'm not sure what made the car accelerate...

That sure scared the hell out of me!

It's now sitting in a box on the shelf. I don't need that stuff here anyway.

Had a cutlass do that before and it was the trashy floor mat bunching up and holding the gas pedal. You may want to check that one out to. Glad you and the car was ok after the wild ride lol. Daniel Ray
