Alterative To The Flip Down Stay Down License Plate

Our cars came from the factory with two slots in the license plate frame. The gas cap will fit in one of these slots. It holds the frame almost flat while you are filling up the car. I do this every time I fill up. Just putting it out there in case people aren't aware it has this feature.

I've always thought that GM did it that way just for this purpose. Also replaced the tag mounting screws with regular blunt tipped SS machine screws. Not those sharp pointy sheet metal screws. Still like the stay down holder better as I've had the gas cap slip and the tag holder snap shut.

We had a kit made that requires no holes to be drilled that duplicates the format of the GM flip down stay down plates that eliminates the issues...its on or website and in stock and I believe sells for under $25.

Cuts down the risk of spilling fuel on expensive rear filler panels.

Either way we got a better solution....than Buick gave us.
