Alternator fan question

Putting a few items back to stock on #403, and we are wondering if the original alternator fan should be black or silver. Anyone know?

GNX 405 was faithfully restored to original specs. See photo (silver)

Thanks, it has an LT1 style fan on it now, so we need to find a really really nice silver fan.
