Does anyone know the part# or a cross reference to a factory higher amp alternator? I plan on going to the junk yard this weekend and would like to know what cars i should be looking for to take the alternator.

I am an Electronics Technician in the Coast Guard, but i HATE having to do electrical work on my own cars. I dont know why!!!! Kinda one of those things like being a barber but alway having a shitty haircut. I'll attack it this weekend and if it gives up too much of a fight, ill just do the LeSabre dash upgrade that ive been needing an excuse to do.
Thats the ticket!!

Im going to pick and pull this weekend to start to gather the parts for the LeSabre cluster upgrade and would like to enlist your help once i have all the pieces. Since you have already done it once, we can probably knock it out real quick together.

read that thread and pay close attention to the VSS part I found it the most difficult.

And I have no problem helping you install it when you are ready.:0)

What year LeSabre are you going to use the dash from? I've been dealing with the same electrical connection gremlins basically from bumper to bumper on my 86' LGN. It's the age, not the body style that is at issue here. Not trying to be a wet blanket, just reminding you that you'll still be dealing with 25+ year old parts. Be patient, take your time and double check everything. Good luck!

I was looking at the "how to" thread on the LeSabre cluster and it says 92-93. I guess ill go with that.
