alternator upgrades

Can the stock alternators provide enough votage and amps, or do they tend to fall short?

If the stock alternator wont do, what is a good upgrade?

in stock form with no added electrical stuff and a properly functioning alt, the stocker will be fine.
but if you add stuff like a stereo system or anything like that, then an upgrade is in order. the CS series alternators are an easy swap, and are miles ahead of the SI series alternators our cars came with. they look cooler, too.

go to the junkyard, find a 3.8 n/a motor

take the alternator/ac bracket off

now you have a bracket that is larger, it will allow you to use a 86/87 sized alternator..120a if i remember right.

which is the same size as the LT1 alternators which came in 120 and 140a ratings....

screw the stock bracket, it sucks.

Are there any alts that are a bolt upgrade for 86s I have too many electric ad ons and dont feel like figuring out belt sizes again. 200 amp impalla and what year?

X2 here. I run the stock alternator with no problems and run alky. Stock radio. Brad

i have been running the alternator turbobuicks.com has for sale in the store. right now its doing fine but i will be doing more logs on it coming soon since i changed a few things. but for me a upgrade is a must. i have alot of things pulling power now. i think i have more power being pulled now then factory. to list a few things that adds more draw, i have removed my a/c but
