Remoce headers and have welded, loosen down pipe and to reposition. The exhaust could be pulling on the down pipe.Try and fix the problem with what you have.

it will cost me same price to have these welded then having brian send me a set of welded ones in better shape
i trying pretty much everything to try pulling up exhaust away from control arm and frame im prety shure motor mounts and control arms will short my issue out is getting a chip a good idee even with stock injectors in other words my question would be will it give me any more then what i have now

i see here and there people talking about a strap on the down pipe can some on elaborate maybe thats what im missing

the strap you ask about people put on the top alternator bolt. remove and install I bolt and put ratchet strap thru it and hook down to frame keep good and snug. this keeps motor from jumping around and downpipe from hittting the frame. or you can buy a drivers side H&R motor mount and call it done. don't waste your money on the upper control arms just for this problem. sounds like you need to clock the turbo and do some tweaking on the exhaust, or get a different downpipe

i was gonna get the g body parts ones that are only 135 bucks with new bushing and ball joint seems like a good deal unless there junk and is more in budget then another down pipe i just got this one last year and some motor mounts i have clocked turbo slightly still seems to close for my comfort and i also need to repair cat mount to be safe would you happen so have a picture of the strap i would like to try this idee as well for aded stability sounds like a cheep fix but with hr motor mounts would that make the strap useless or would both be even better

no need for the strap with h&r mount. you only need drivers side, thats all i've had on mine since removing strap years ago

The down pipe actually has the holes enlarged for some adjustment. When we were originally building these we ran into problems where some times it would hit a heater box & other times it would want to hit a upper control arm. It depended on the car we were putting it on. The condition of the motor mounts & the body bushings played a role in this. By giving it a larger mounting hole this gives the flexability to set the down pipe to the desired fit & then tighten. If the down pipe is just installed it will go to it's lowest position. On most stock motor mount cars this will put it close to the upper a-arm. it has to be raised up & then tightened down to the desired height for optimal clearnace.

that most deff did aid in clearance but i do wanna add with the a arms and motor mounts to insure no matter how hard i mash on it that its not gonna hit anything
