Any of you ever heard of Amsoil synthetic oil?????? I'm thinkin of switching over to it on my recent rebuild....(6,000 Mi.) A friend of mine is a dealer for it and he's trying to get me to switch over.... Now supposedly you can run this oil for at least 10,000 miles if you change your filter frequently. Yikes! If I do switch I'll probably change it as normal about 3.5k....

It is expensive but he said he would sell it to me for $4.50 @ Quart.... I suppose as with any synthetic oil if I have a leak it will probably multiply it???

Currently using Quaker State Peak Performance 10W-30.... And I will probably use the Amsoil 10W-30 also...

Just looking for some feedback.

Thanks

I'm thinking about every 5,000 mi. with their oil....

Right now I change filter and oil at 3,000 mi.

I run Mobil 1 in both of my cars, and I have run Mobil 1 in 5 TR's and 2 vettes. I change oil and filter every 3K miles, regardless of manufacturers claims. I have never lost a motor or a turbo.
A lot of manufacturers are going to Mobil 1, and requiring it to maintain warranty. Manuvacturers have extended their service intervals when using Mobil 1. General Motors, for example.
FWIW & IMHO: Just food for thought.
I think that BMW requires Mobil 1 or their own oil on their new M3.
