There's alot of threads about CAI's and AIT sensor locations and hp gains per 10deg temp drop ect.
My qusetion is about the ecu and the changes that are made when the AIT changes.

Example: 65* ambient outside air. Since I installed the CAI on my car I can watch the AIT rise to about 105* sitting at a light. Then as I accelerate the temp will drop to 67* within an 1/8th mile.(even quicker driving WOT) So with the stock ecu being somewhat slow to update by today's standards will this create tunning issues.
Since the new set up I had to take fuel out of the entire tune. 1st gear is minus 5% and the rest is 0%

The air temp sensor (Ats on the Scanmaster) has no effect when using a Turbo Tweak chip, if I read that correctly on Erics website. So its basically display only, not used for tuning.

wasn't sure if such a quick drop in air temp into engine would effect performance

The cooler the air, and the denser the air, the more the engine likes it. The turbo compresses the air, which heats it- causing it to expand. The idea behind the intercooler is to cool the intake charge back down and make it as dense as possible before it enters the heads. The more air you can pack in, the more fuel you can burn = more power.
So you are correct, the cooler the air, the better. But the air temp you are seeing is for reference only- the computer doesn't use it for anything. Hope this helps..clear as mud, right?
