Car fax has it listed as a Ttype... Still not a GN, but not a plain ol regal.

Who knows.

Doesnt that VIN show being an 85 model?
He just joined the ebay world to screw someone.

Copy from Carfax's site... they could be wrong too, that wouldn't be the first time I bet:p

They made V8 Ttypes in 85:confused: I thought it was a 82-83 only thing. Learn something new every day:cool:

I owned a 1986 V8 ttype that I bought from ebay for 700.00 I thought it was just a seller that put ttype in the listing but it turned out to be an actual ttype. It had a flat hood, chrome mouldings, ttype turbine wheels, roll up windows and bucket seats. Not too many made.

Check out those "REAL GENUINE GNX 16" WHEELS WITH NEW GOODYEAR TIRES" complete with the dimpels and all

This is his reply as to the VIN number
"it was stolen and recovered... it was tehn registered as an 85.. but it is a 87 true gn ad it is in perfect condition thanbks"

uh huh. That makes more questions than answers, me thinks.

HA... same response to me...LOL.

Tell me.. the way he put it, it sounds like it's a "re Vin'd" 87 with a 85 vin plate? Isn't that highly Illegal??

Or it's either a real 85 just cloned? But he dind't put it like that.

it is a real gn.. it was stolen and when recovered and put back together it was registered with a new vin.. an 85 vin.. it is a true 87 in perfect condition it was stolen when it had only 3k miles.. it was new at the time... thansk

I think I'll add him to my "no buy" list

I bet this is the only time he tries to sell anything. He knows that it is a scam.

Unreal that even with a VIN discrepency, the thing is already at $11,400:eek: .

Yep, Theft History and a VIN Swap...

1. MY QUESTION:

Why is the VIN of this car to a 1985 Regal T-Type? 1. Accident and rebodied, 2. VIN swap, or 3. Stolen? Please let me know which of the above situations apply. Thanks!

2. HIS ANSWER:

It was stolen, when it had 3k miles on it.. it has a true 40k now and it was piut back together with an 85 vin.. it is a real gn.. and it is all 87 in perfect condition thanks.. thats why the vin swap... thanks please feel free to ask any questions

3. MY REPLY:

Holy smokes! I appreciate your candor, but don't you think that theft history and a swapped VIN is important enough to disclose in your auction? You might want to have an attorney (particularly one familiar with interstate commerce and DMV issues) at the ready after your auction ends. Good luck, man!

I think it's painfully obvious that the seller expects this deal to go bad... He's a new seller with Zero feedback... Riiiight.

Probably created a new name just to off this car and not worry about the Neg. he'd get when they new owner gets the title.

What's up with people bidding $11+K without running a Carfax on the VIN...

OR, they're just willing to spend that much on a "Clone"

I reported this listing to Ebay, I hope they pull it.

Some one is going to get screwed....
