another pl and windows 7 post

Hi all, help. Went thru instructions in Bobs sticky, and get to device manager and see pl with the ! Next to it but not the serial port with the !. Seems pl is installed on computer ok and sm is updated and working but no data to computer. Thanks in advance!

Went thru Bobs sticky, went thru Erics sticky and only got to about step 3, none of my screens looked like that can't figure out how to load drivers and hate computers anyway and now battery in car is dead y'all have a good night

I also have windows 7 and i called Eric and he walked me right thru....I suggest you give him a call between 7pm &10pm eastern time...no worries you'll be up and running in no time...HTH

Hey all, just a follow up. Went thru every post I could find and followed everyone's instructions but could not get unsigned drivers to load. Figuring my time and aggravation is worth something, went down and saw the good folks at AZ computer gurus in Tucson. He told me win7 with 64 bits is a bigger pita then win7 with 32 bits. He even had to go research it a few times but got it to load. H

I had to hit F2 during start up, go to Advanced Options and select disable driver enforcement to get it to load. Maybe this will help someone else that searches.

I had zero problems installing PL on Windows 7. Just following instructions from TT website.

I have windows 7 64-bit installed, and I suppose it depends on administrator settings. So...results may vary.

I just installed mine the other night, ran into the same thing (just the pl with yellow !, no usb one), i followed the steps anyway, and after it selected the driver for pl, the usb one appeared below it on the menu. Followed the same procedure on it and presto, working great. I think the faster sampling rate on the scanmaster is worth the price of admission on it's own! Can't wait to go fiddle with it now that cooler weather is here!
