can anyone advise how to manually lower a broken power antenna.

You can not lower it with out damage to the mask. Get a rebuild kit from GBodyParts.com Online

Those electric antenna's are a PITA! The last one I installed lasted 4 months. I went to a local car show and my friends wife said she heard a weird noise coming from my fender. When I went to check it out sure enough another broken antenna just sitting there running. I have not fixed it yet as I am thinking about putting a stainless mast instead of going back to the electric.

Sometimes you can push the mast down and the broken nylon cable will rewind itself. You'll have to ramrod it like you're reloading a black powder muzzle loader if you catch my drift. Be carefull as it's easy to bend the mast.

I've only been able to do this once. Most of the time I can only get the first two sections to go leaving about 10 inches or so of it sticking up.
