Any benefit to porting a larger turbo?

I have a TE-60 and was wondering if smoothing the inside of the compressor housing and porting the outlet side of the housing will do anything beneficial or hurt the turbo's performance? I heard of porting the stocker, but what about the upgrades? Thanks.
