Any benefit to using the AC Drier Heat Shield?

Living in sunny Florida, trying to optimize the less than optimal 1980's cooling... Any real world benefit to the AC drier heat shield?

I don't run one. The evap case is still going to be heat soaked with or without one.

It wasn't designed nor sized to be heat soaked.
