Have you seen a "relationship" between your work and it helping with acid reflux, etc...?

Thanks,

Yes, but I wouldn't go parading it as a cure all. Your diaphragm and esophagus are muscles just like the ones you feel with back pain and sciatica. Many people with acid reflux problems will have problems in the T11-L1 region in their spines. It's pretty common and I see it often in my patients with acid reflux. Manipulation may help and be a good adjunct therapy to diet, nutritional supplementation and medicinal therapies.

Feel free to PM if you have any other questions.

As turbobuick touched on, it's just a quick fix for the symptoms of acid reflux. The more important fix is for what's causing the acid reflux. It's more than likely diet related. AR is nothing to mess around with. Esophageal cancer is some nasty stuff. I would have AR several times a week. Once I changed my diet, I never get it now.

Long story short... I had surgery a few years ago for esophageal achalasia, (say that 3-times fast ), and ever since then I've had AR. I'm on daily meds for it, (omeprazole 20-mg), and I know if I curved my diet some that would help as well. There are days that the AR is at its worst and the meds help very little. Those days I have lower back pains, that I don't experience any other day. A co-worker mentioned that his chiropractic sessions have helped his AR significantly.

AR is nothing to mess around with. Esophageal cancer is some nasty stuff.

FWIW, I was told that I was at a higher risk for the cancer because of having the surgery...

Can't help you with Chiropractic answers but, I am a freelance Gynecologist.... Have van will travel........

No help I know but I hope you feel better.

When I got my most severe cases of AR, I'd mix baking soda and water and drink it down. Wait about 20 seconds for a huge burp and enjoy sweet relief!!! Good luck, I hope you get it worked out!!
