I've done 17-18 but 15 is really all I want/need to do. With slicks on 20 would not surprise me. A good vacuum system with the right brakes is just as good.
Yea, Anything over 15psi didn't gain me anything at all. I was trying like a mad man to get from a 12.05 to an 11.99 but nothing I could do would give it to me.. The key to holding boost is keeping the rear tires from turning with the brakes.

Another thing that is working against ruling a 13.9 is the age of the intercooler. It has most likely lost some of its marginal efficiency due to corrosion on the surface and in the solder i the fin assembly and dirt accumulation in the fins too. Also that 13.9 was run at near freezing temperatures.

Years ago went 12.0 at like 108 or something with a stock turbo, stock injectors, stock DP with a dump and open of course on slicks. Boost was probably around 22-23 about as much as you can make on stock turbo and still making power.
27 degree Race chip on 110 gas. The car was very well tuned or i don't think it would have ran that well.
 
I replaced the PM as the ball had expired after sitting for 18 years. was less expensive to just swap over to vacuum than to purchase the ball. I was also scared after reading many PM stories, but don't want to drag this post into a PM post.
I am determined to see how quick I go as stock as possible. I did the fuel pump and hotwire as I could not get clean run with 12 psi without it. I went adjustable wastegate as that was reasonable way to increase boost, I went adjustable fuel regulator to accomodate boost. I will keep stock injectors and the like as long as possible. I still have everything I pulled from the car except the original fuel filter which I cut up to see what it looked like inside. I can drop the PM right back in with no effort.
I do have a problem holding brake at the line. I glide up to the light, put it in neutral, rev the motor a few times to build boost and then crawl up to the lights, I try to stage so i don't have to hold brake for long. Then I mash the brake as hard as I can and build boost, once is a while I'll roll through before I want to and just let up on brake and mash throttle and go for it.
These cars are so cool.
I wonder how long my stock tranny is good for?
I was impressed to see how quick some of these cars go with the stock intake.
It does seem, that at the same or lower boost levels, like my stock chip is making more power than TT, likely the timing in the stock versus the default timing in baseline TT chip burn. One think I do like about the stock chip is there are less paramaters to adjust (none) versus my getting confused on TT (confused as novice equaly invaluable flexibility once experienced). With the stock chip I'm restricted to boost and fuel pressure.
I do really need a hood mounted fuel pressure gauge though, impossible to tune without it, as there are continuous questions on "what was your fuel pressure, did you go 1 lb per psi of boost, etc.". I'll need to break down and install one. I do have a great gauge that is removable but super dangerous when I tape to hood, I find myself staring at it and not the road and ran off the road one night, scared me straight.
