I will be spending a few days up there soon. The joys of doing some work on a GM/Toyota project. What fun car stuff is around there?

not much, just the same as any other town...burgerkingtacobellwendysarbys

let me know when your in town and we can grab a bite maybe

Mike

12 Oaks mall... I lived there before the mall and when it was a small town

Take a ride into Dearborn and go to the Henry Ford Museum. Nothing else like it for stuff that burns gas, not even the Smithsonian. You can spend 5-6 hours easy and not be bored. It is very cool.

Could always drive up to Flint and see the Sloan Museum has a history of the area and auto's.Also they have a GNX,plus many other autos from the area on display that GM donated to them. I think it has 30 something miles on it,GNX!

Wow...that place brings back some memories...I lived in Novi for awhile and graduated from Novi High School...many years ago...

OK, I called and made reservations. The normal price for the hotel is $89... the toyota *discount* puts it at $109 per night. Exact same room.

There isn't much to do in Novi, I have to go there for work sometimes.

There is The Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and Museum that had a display of a Buick Indycar engine - that was in 2000 so I am not sure if it is still there.

Detroit isn't far if you want to go to to the Casinos or see the Red Wings or Tigers.

Bahama Breeze in Livonia (a few miles away) is my favorite place to eat, yeah it is a chain but they don't have them in New England.

As mentioned before - The Henry Ford is a must see, you can tour the Ford Rouge auto plant as well.

The old one or the new one they built?
I went to the new one when it first opened in 1976
I get kicked out in 80 in my senior year

Northville Downs is only 20 minutes away if you like to watch trotters

What time frame are you going to be in town? I'm sure there are things to do. What things are you interested in? Theres a car show every weekend at Bakers off I-96 and Milford rd. Its about 15 min from Novi.

Built in 77 or 78, think 78. Sh!t we must know some of the same people, Rattcliffe's, Hellwich brothers (sp?) Randy Satterfield, Bigams (sp?)

Double Ditto on the Ford Museum. Fantastic place!!

I did the museum in 2000, I'm sure it has changed. Maybe I'll have time to go there...

I just got up here and am fairly deep in this network already. The part I love is that I get to work on the design systems used for GM and Toyota prototype projects. Never thought I'd manage those networks:) It's nice driving around up here, not ever car is a Camry or Honda. Back in KY it seems like everything is a toyota.

I did get to see one of these on the road as soon as I got here. Very nice looking. It was scary in a way, every thing looked like a new car but a very old design from the late 60s.

Ya, the Detroit area is interesting for sure!! Especially if you want to be someplace where there are so FEW foreign nameplates!!

I had both the pleasure and displeasure of living in the area for almost a year!

Pleasure, because I was with my Daughter and Son-In-Law, the two MOST important people in my life after my wonderful Wife.

Displeasure, well... what can you say, it's still Michigan!!

Oh...No offense to you and your new Honda. I live in Camry country. I'd say the toyota to all cars ratio at work is about 5 to1. Employees really only drive them because they can get them so far below what a normal customer could and then sell them for profit a few years later.

I guess Tennessee is the place for you then:confused:
