If you think those are slow check this list and respective ET"s from sport compacts in Puerto Rico. WOW! All these are either 4 or 6cyl. or rotaries. Got it from the website listed at the bottom. There are pictures. I have seen many of these cars run and on any given event you will find many of them there. I know, I know they are imports. But as someone that apreciates performance, this is impresive. Believe me, all these cars actually exist.

Puerto Rico apparently has some fast racers.
My wife and I go on cruises occasionally. When I go I wear GN clothing attempting to attract any TR nuts aboard the ships.
I've never been approached by anyone regarding TR's on the various ships.....but after one cruise, when coming back through Customs into Puerto Rico the customs guy noticed my shirt and said that he races and that there are lots of TR's in Puerto Rico....some even in the 9's.
I wasn't able to spend much time talking to him as the rest of the passengers kept us moving.

Unfortunately I hear that thats where a lot of stolen TRs end up...
they nab em, tag em, and ship em over never to be found again....ChrisCairns

Yep, I've heard that also and I believe it.
There's no control of any sort on what is shipped from the mainland U.S. to P.R. Not too hard to grab a car, put it into a container and load it on a ship.

With Puerto Rico being a territory of the United States is not any easier to ship stolen merchandize there than it would be Alaska or Hawaii. Funny that many times when a car is stolen in Puerto Rico, people there say it was put on a boat and shipped to the Dominican Republic.
On a related subject, recently with the use of Lojack and Onstar several stolen cars were found in containers at the port of Miami bound for some where in South America (I think Colombia).
The most interesting part about Puerto Rico is that according to the NHRA, it has the highest per capita of Drag Racers in the world. An island that is 100 X 35 Miles has 5 Drag strips. Two NHRA ¼ mile, one IHRA ¼ mile and two independent 1/8 mile. There are also over one million registered vehicles and 120,000 to 130,000 new vehicles are sold there every year.
I guess by now you might wonder how do I know all this; I travel there on business about 7 to 8 times a year. Because of this, I have studied much of the demographic information on the island. Sometimes during these travels I take time and go to these Drag strips. There are times when all 5 are open at the same time and they are all packed.
