My wife went out for breakfast with her Mom and an old man was backing up and hit out 2011 turbo regal. That isn't the part that made me mad. The old man hit it with my wife standing right beside it and he hit it pretty hard and then starts to drive off. My wife was able to get him to stop and he acted like it was not a big deal and didn't think we should turn it in.

He was going to hit it and run if my wife hadn't stopped him. The even better part is this guy lives on our street on the same block. His car has dents all over his car. This wasn't the first time for him. I think he has hit just about everything in the county. I am starting to believe you can't trust anyone to do the right thing. He tried to say it was a little scratch and it was no big deal. The car is new with less than 10,000 miles and his looks like a golf ball with all the dents. No big deal to him in his beat up car. I am losing faith in people! The only good thing was a cop witnessed the whole thing.

Wow, that's pretty darn sad in my eyes, and I'm sorry to hear you car got hit. It's also funny that you brought this up too. Just today, I was talking with a fellow Marine that owns a Pontiac G8 GT, a very nice car like mine, I must add....lol Anyway, his was hit in the rear quarter panel recently while in the parking lot at work. Who ever did it just up'ed and left. No note, or nothing..... I would have loved to have seen who done it, especially a uniformed member in the Marine Corps where everything is based on integrity. This is just friggen nasty in my eyes! Hope the dirt bag that hit yours get's charged with hit and run. And you wonder why our insurance is so high.....

recently I found a wallet at the end of my driveway. not sure how long it was there, my driveway is 1/4 mile long with curves so I can't see the end of it. I picked up the wallet and opened it. There was a California license with a picture of a woman I did not know. I remembered that a neighbor seemed to have someone staying with them. I went over to their house and asked if they had lost anything. She said "OMG my friend lost her wallet with her license, credit cards, money, her life is in that wallet." Her friend was on the phone with the police. I gave her back the wallet. Nothing was missing, She was sooooo happy!

There are still some honest people out there..........

Sorry to say it is hard to trust anyone these days. If they can get away with it they would or point blame to someone else. Seems like what ever is a big deal to you is not to them and they like to play innocent. Sorry this happend to you. I have run into my fair share of scumbags that don't own up... karma is a bit*h it's only a matter of time

I am starting to think this myself.... Just recently I helped a friend move here drove around for days looking for a house for him, went and scheduled an appointment to look at this house, take pictures, send him the pictures. Moves here and I let him borrow my open car trailer to haul his tool box to work, let him use the trailer to drop his hot rod off at the dealership to be worked on, used the trailer to pick it up from the dealer ship and take it somewhere else, used the trailer again to pick it up, used the trailer again to take it and trade it for a race car, used it to bring the race car home, used it to take the race car to the track SEVERAL times....Here is the kicker... I had a blow out due to the tires being dry rotted so when he asked if he could use it I said no because I didn't want anything happening to him or his car cause of the dry rotted tires so he OFFERS to go half with me on some brand new tires and bragged on how cheap he could get them for, I thought that was nice since he used the trailer this much and I thought it was a nice gesture...Well he calls me up one day and said he got some tires, I go by and look at them and they are dry rotted too...So I said "Hey these are just as bad and dry rotted" he replied "I got them at a flea market and they looked like new with the little tits still on them"....I thought to myself these aren't going on that's for sure then he has them mounted on without telling me...So I pick the trailer up from his place and take it home, call him and politely asked when he wanted to go with me to buy some new tires, his reply was " Those are better than what was on there"..... Right then and there I just chalked it up as another dead beat who like to use instead of give....To this day I have not received any other tires for all the use of the trailer after he OFFERED!

yeah, I work in criminal justice and see the scum every day. However, I would guess the number of honest people in America number in the tens of millions. When I returned that woman's wallet it didn't make the TV news or paper.

I guess I should also mention that in 2006 we bought a new Toyota tundra and it got a nice hit and run done to it as well. There was a witness that got a partial plate number that didn't do any good but the kicker to it was the plate was an Indiana "In God we trust" plate. Good thing we can trust God but not the driver.

Now to another oddity to this recent incident. Tuesday I was sitting over with my neighbor in his garage watching cars go by and I noticed his wife's 2011 Malibu had a pretty good side scuff on the rear bumper and he had just hand washed the car the day before and it wasn't there then. So it had happen that day while she was getting groceries. So much for living in a quiet midwestern little town. There are good people out there but they are just few and far between. The old man was 84 and probably shouldn't be driving anymore. That is was the cop that witnessed it said to.

I had someone hit and run my Honda Accord. Put a 8 inch hole in the rear left quarterpanel. Someone else hit and run my Grand National pretty much taking off the front fender! Yeah, there is a lot of scum out there.

There are also many, many honest people out there, seek and ye shall find,,,,,,,,,,

I agree with Red C5. There are still honest people out there and we have to coninue to trust. If we were to stop, then the problem will only get worse. We can only continue to raise our children correctly and hope they raise their children correctly, etc, etc.

Just the other day I was at a gas station and used my debit card. I decided to get $20 back when I made my purchase, the teller was distracted. She gave me $20, bagged up my purchase, and gave me another $20. Not realizing it at the time I walked out of the store. As I was about to get in my car when I thought she had made a mistake and checked. Sure enough she did. I walked back in the store and told her what happened and gave her the extra $20 back. She thanked me profusely and who knows, she may have lost her job if I didn't come back in. I believe in Karma, it will come back around. I think that Integrity is one of the most important character traits a person can have.

I completely agree that there are still good trustworthy people out there.

I just can't seem to lower my expectations enough to not be let down by them. My wife and I are trying to raise our kids to the expectations I believe people should be at. That is why we fostered kids. I think kids should be raised to know right from wrong and I have seen too many adults who can't distinguish the two so how can they raise their kids to do so.

When I was in the Navy a friend of mine told me that expectations only lead to disappointment. I now see what he was talking about. I just feel like people are losing their morals. This is one time I really hope I am wrong or the world is really going to suck for my kids.

The nationals are a perfect example of the people I can't stand. Why would a person believe it is okay to take another mans car? It just boils my blood. I am ready for the country to start handing out harsher punishments for crimes. Go back to the old west rules. Horse thieves were hung. I guess I am disruntled at what people have become. This country has become the kinder gentler country that is more worried about not offending anyone rather than doing what is right. I promise you that if the punishment for stealing a car was death you would have less cars stolen!!! So if someone does a hit and run they should lose their drivers license for life. That would make them think twice before driven off.

Sorry for the rant but I am fed up the idiots of the world.

I hope everyone understands that I am not mad about the guy actually hitting the car. I am pi$$ed that he was just going to drive away. I does bother me that he was about two feet from hitting my wife that is pregnant.

Groumoutis, that sucks. We have to inspect them (Regals) off the transporter and if they have a scratched front clip its an easy $600 bucks. Hope you get it fixed correctly. Lots of old people run into things especially working in car business, the trades in they have, all panels front side and rear look like a dodge em car. One thing i have learned, never drive a nice car to parking lot or to church bc you park far away from everyone, that one old person will spot you and leave you with a sratch or a dent or door ding. Ohio is trying to step up to the plate and retest senior citizens which they should. My grandmother is 86 and forgot her hearing aid and pulled in reverse in a parking lot and didnt hear the persons horn blaring at her. Luckily nothing happened but right after my mom pulled her license. I have had several friends killed in car or bike accidents by senior citizens whose reaction times are way below par for a person who should be driving. Seniors are the largest voting bloc but their insurance is sky high as a teenage girl. Only thing worse than old people driving are teenage girls sending texts while driving. Several close call head on collisions this summer with girls texting and driving have me more defensive then ever!

The same thing happened to me at a shopping mall back in June. Some dirtbag hit and ran my 2011 truck that only had 1200 miles on it at the time. The damage was $1000. I had to pay the $500 deductable and my insurance went up $10 per month.
