Hey. The wife just bought me an 8 gig IPOD nano for xmas.

I know you can go to itunes and download songs for 99 cents. But I have a HUGE CD collection I want to put on my IPOD.

Is there any way of doing this? I'm guessing I'd need to put in my CD and somehow upload the songs on my PC? Or do I have to upload them to my itunes library? Does anyone know how I can do this?

Thanks!

ipod

i just got one also go i tunes and do the tutorial it will walk u through it its easy

iTunes will rip them and put them in your library automatically.

Personally I despise iTunes and use other programs for loading my iPod but for what you want to do, its the easiest and best solution.

Load itunes and pop the CD in. Really easy.

I love itunes personally. I ripped over 16 gigs of CD's in a weekend a few years back.

The problem with iTunes and really all players that maintain a database of your music is that if you have a lot of music, you need a freakin Cray supercomputer to manage your collection. I have about 600 gig of music and I cant manage any of it in a database style player. Media Monkey is the closest thing to being able to do it of anything I own. WMP chokes, iTunes chokes... thats why I use standalone programs to load the iPods.. much easier to right click and choose Send To than it is to wait for 5 minutes every time you move between albums in iTunes.

I understand where you are coming from. I have about 56 gigs and it works great for that.

I listen to it all and I really thing anymore than that I wouldn't listen to it anyway.

I will check out media monkey. I'm all for upgrading.

We bought my son one for Christmas and have used itunes but looking for alternatives......

Media Monkey is a good alternative.. Anapod is also a very simple alternative. There are even some free ones.. Yamipod comes to mind right off.

If youre managing videos, that sort of rules a lot of them out tho. ImToo Ipod Transfer Utility handles videos Im pretty sure.
