Im looking for Buick turbo guys living around Edwardsville Illinois that can help
me with reputable mechanics etc.

I am having a hard time finding people that can work on these cars and that
know them.

Thanks Steve

I live in Champaign. Ever come up this way? There is a guy here that is pretty good. What do you need done?

Hey GN RICK
I have talked a little with you before.
My car still runs rich at idle. This spring I have a new fuel pump and sending unit, 30 lb injectors, adjustable fuel press regulator to install.
I can do those. If its still running rich, I will either take it somewhere or find the nearest car crusher.
I have replaced every vac hose I can find.
Dont see any obvious cracked headers etc.
Tired of chasing the problem.
I need the rear main seal changed.
That most likely could be any reputable mechanics job, along with I am guessing the timing chain.

Hi Fellow Illinoisians

I do know any mechanics down that way,but I have a name for a GN guru(supposedly)here in the peoria area. If interested I can send his name and number to ya via PM. I have never used the guy and you are a long ways from here but just trying to help, maybe.
Got the name from a guy at a Hooters cruise-in in Peoria this past fall. Let me know if ya want it...I live in Pekin, shoot me a message sometime!
I don't have any money so if ya decide to send it to the crusher....well there is a free spot in my driveway! LOL! Patients is an important part sometimes! hang in there...Good luck...

GNRick same goes to you, shoot me a message sometime! I am a busy guy so it may take me some time to respond but I will, when I get time!

Steve- have you checked your blm's? Maybe Eric Marshall could help you, in Salem?

Hey Old Man- I was just checking mileage to Peoria from Champaign. Do you get GM High Tech? In the new issue that came today, they replaced regular coolant with Evans in an 87 GN and picked up 23 HP and 38 lb-ft of torque. There is an Evans dealer in Washington and one in Peoria. I thought I might head up your way and buy some. Here is their website: Evans Cooling Systems, Inc. High Performance Engine Cooling and Power Production.

Tell Postal I said hi.

Yes the BLMs are high.
I think I have found someone who owns a 87 GN , and has had it since new.
Works at a Buick dealer nearby ?
Ouch thats gonna be expensive, but hopefully worth it.
Thanks to all for the replies

There is a mechanic at K.C. Summers Buick in Mattoon that has owned his 87 GN since new. But that is a two hour drive for you. His name is John Lehman.

Thanks
Ill look up Matoon on the map.
2hrs, that could be Doable
I do have a lead on a guy a little closer I think.
Do you know any good car crushers just in case ?
Steve
