Oh Chad, no one here is a fool. Not in denial either, just know where I stand. Maybe some of you guys should cruise up to Vegas and check out whats going on at Vegas raceway on the w/e of the 3rd of Oct. As far as loosing customers? I've talked to Bruce before and have alot of respect for him. I've never talked to you Mark, so I don't know your kidding around unless I read lol, j/k or . Sorry I misunderstood your statements . I'm sure you'll agree with me that you wouldn't want to do business with someone who didn't have respect for you. BTW everyone in AZ that has a thirdgen on that board is very down to earth and they know their cars aren't the fastest but they take pride in their cars regardless of their budgets.

Yep, I've known I was high strung since I was in 2nd grade when I kept getting in fights with 6th graders and winning. Guess my head is pretty hard . Having a stressful job doesn't help, the co I work for believes in FEAR management. All in good fun . I know that there are many of them out there just not here. Centrall IL.....land of the 400HP kn Filter kit (At least kids my age) also what are done to there thirdgen's. Im not trying to start a fight but I got a friend that has a GTA and wants to get it running similar to mine. i just don't know much about small block v-8 (I was a ford guy in my other life )

Just tell them to drive a Turbo car and stomp the crap out of the throttle and leave it wide open in 3rd gear (under load) and see what the boost is, THEN, throw it in neutral or push the clutch in if manual, still at wide open and see what the boost is.......if it's the same tell them you will give them a $ 1,000 bucks ....

My friend owns a '87 GN. I own a '85 TA. I love my buddies car. I love GN's. I also love F-body's.

GN's are fast, theres no doubt about it. But, they are still V6's. The main reason GN's are fast are cause of the turbo. Without it they'ed be nothin but a cutlass. Buick had to slap a turbo on in order to get any speed or power out of it. If Pontiac or Chevy slapped turboes on the 5.7 V8's this thread probably never would of existed.

A NA 3.8 V6 hasn't got a hope in hell to beat a 5.7 V8.
A turbo 3.8 beats the 5.7 handsdown.
A turbo 3.8 would get murdered by a turbo 5.7

Remember, the 5.7 has a plethora of head/intake/cam/ mods readily availible. Not to mention the computer tuning and bottem end work that can be done. The 3.8 has some aftemarket availible, but not nearly as much as the 5.7L.

I read 14.7psi of boost effectivly doubles displacement. 14.7 in a GN brings it to 462ci. 14.7psi in 5.7 brings it to 700ci. A huge difference there.

Both GN's and 3rd gens are fast. The GN has the advantage, but when both are modded properly, a F-body could still stomp a GN without a problem.

Everyone needs to grow up. Both are cars are fast, and both cars deserve respect. Get off your high horses and give respect the General. Without him, neither car would exist and you people would have nothing to argue over.

There isn't a big aftermarket for turbobuicks? LOL. It's just that Scummit and JEGS don't carry our stuff.

A properly modded Fbody would kill a GN eh...dude..you're fishing. I love both platforms, I've owned 3 fbody's now. Stick a grand into a L98 and stick a grand in a TTA...I wonder what one comes out faster and more reliable.

BTW..GN's and TTA's don't need head or cam swaps to go fast...and the bottom ends are good for a lot more power than a stock L98 can handle(again, not trashing the L98, it's a good motor).

You talk about computer mods...have you L98 guys been able to use a LT1 or LS1 MAF yet?? Um, no.

So just because a L98 is turbo'ed it'd automatically beat a turbo 3.8? I have a few friends with turbo 3.8's running low 11's with moderate boost on pump gas...and 110% streetable....

After all the money you'd spend on fabricating all the parts you'd have a huge hole in your wallet(don't get me wrong, it'd be a bad ass motor). Then tuning...making sure everything is right. It's all uncharted territory. The 3.8 is a reliable factory built system that is easy as **** to mod.

This whole issue was dead in the water until you came over and restarted the fire. So what are you gonna tell us next? A T5 is an idea match for our motors??? LOL

Well then, I wonder..... why does my turbo 3.8 walk all over my buddies blown 468 big block? And why are all the supercharged L98's and LT1's still running 12's? They should be running 8's!

"the general"- stick a turbo on your 5.7, I'll still race ya. Of course, your motors gonna blow before you get anywhere anyway. Its not just the turbo that makes these cars fast. The rest of the engine technology was and is very advanced. DIS ignition comes to mind. Its not like they just stuck a turbo on an otherwise stock engine.

I love when people use a lot of IF's. Guess what, IF I was a 6'6" black man that had a vertical leap of 60" I would be Michael Jordan in his prime and worth $800 million. That has about as much of a chance of happening as the L98 becoming turbocharged and easliy beating the 3.8 in our cars. It is all simple in theory but if it was JUST THAT EASY, why didn't "The General" think of it?

You are obviously new to this forum. Do yourself a favor and do a search on JCotton. Check out some of his times. For your theory to work and the "turbocharged L98" to easily stomp the 3.8 turbo the L98 would have to be able to compete with John Force. If I am not mistaken Cotton's car is still streetable. Not many people can see they have a street legal car running low 9's.

As I said on your forum over there on thirdgen. I have no issues with your cars. They have their strengths for sure. It is people like you that feel the need to fish and make stuff up that aggravate me. I just don't get why people on your board dom't just get the TTA. It has all the benefits of both cars. handling, braking, speed, looks, etc... The whole V6 thing isn't a negative from where I sit behind the wheel of my GN. I just wish I could get some more traction, that's all.
