Hey guys, there are so many new turbo's out there, Im looking to upgrade from my current, T64E, there are alot of new turbos out, but I have had great luck with mine...just ready to go larger, im looking at the PT70, bigger brother to what i have, but will put me where I want to be, 4"in and 3" out (no more adaptors) and capable of about 150 more horse, and a plug and play drop in from what I have, both using the TO4 housing..Just wondering if anybody has anything bad to say about the PT70 and older journal bearing turbos versus the new ball bearing stuff, I know the ball bearing turbos spool faster, I currently have no complaints on spool time, just weighing the options, but I like the plug and play of the PT70....and will likely not outgrow that anytime in the visable future..any info/advise would be great...thanks, Ryan

pm sent.

Had a PT70, awesome turbo. Especially with your supporting mods, it will pull hard!

Had it for few years, no problems,Been a great turbo for my needs, just looking to upgrade to BB

Save your $$$ and stick with the journal bearing unit. Your converter plus transbrake should put to rest an issues with building boost versus a DBB unit.

DBB units are, IMO, for guys who want to run the biggest turbo they can, retain good spool up and squeeze the converter. Generally these setups are for rides that probably see more street duty vs track duty and want the best of both worlds (big power and quick spool). The 70 is a proven unit that works well.

Nothing wrong with that.
It was time to replace the center section so I went with a 70 BB
