O.K. I hear how people are having some success running more boost and what not, but does anyone have any real track results where their was a gain from the Powerstoke Intercooler instal.

I'm thinking about getting one, but I'll stick to a stock location stretch if no one has seen any gains in the ET's after the IC mod.
TIA

Oh man, you wanna hack the whole nose of your car? Why not a nice PTE or Cotton's FM? I didnt mention CAS because I assume you want to get it by summer.....

Hack tho whole nose? Who has done this?

I didn't have to.... Just cut some holes for the tubing to go throught the header panel and trim the headlight buckets... A little notch out of the battery tray "plastic" for the 3" tubing like I used or you could go with the 2 1/2 " stuff not have to trim the battery tray area... That is it.

Even though I do not have track numbers for my car, common sense will tell you that if you can run 19lbs of boost on 93 octane gas with 0 knock the car is going to be faster....Turbo lag is not even noticeable....

Can not beat the price.....I paid $75 for the IC, $133 for the plumbing and $53 for the hose.

A couple days work and it is in! I love it! Check out photos of it on my website button.

Good Work, GREAT price on a nice looking car BoostedBug. However, I will stay with my Cotton FM IC. I just love it!!!! If I could tune, my car would be in the mid to high 11s.

BoostedBug,
Please post some track numbers when you get them. A before and after would be nice.

Thanks,
Jason

I really can't afford an $800 Frontmount right now, or any time soon for the matter.

At 158,000 miles plus, my car is no show car and far from one. A cut here and their isn't really going to bother me as long as the IC works correctly.

It's odvious that more boost equals more power, which would be good for lower ET's. But I want to see gains from people who actually race their cars.

I checked out your website. That intercooler is big,but not very thick.I don't like the way the plumbing looks though. Is there a different way to plumb it? I may try this myself, but aesthetics is important to me also.

I went off of Jay Bannings setup. He has the part numbers of the mandrel bent pipe and the hose needed. Get the adapter from cootons and plumed it up. Might be other ways but I like it. My brother has a cartech front mount "$900" one and his plumbing isn't any better...

If you've got the money, I'd get an intercooler from CAS, Precision, or Cottons. Easy to purchase... easy to install. No other modifications, no cutting or triming needed.

Regarding before vs. after performance increases... Sorry, I can't really help there. I did my heads, cam, injectors, and frontmount at the same time. I'm still trying to see what this combo will do, so it definately won't be till early next season that I can put another IC on the car to see what the difference is.

P.S. You can call me Banning. It's a long story, but I go by my middle name (Banning).

Banning, your da man! That IC on your car looks really neat. I look at your site at least once a day to try to convince myself to do it, but until I see some before and after results with some gains in ET, I will not commit to it.

I can't afford a nice PTE or Cotton FM, but I also can't afford to throw away $300 bucks if it does turn out to be a junk IC.

Come on guys, lets see some times!

WHOA... HOLD ON A MINUTE! I don't have any pictures of my intercooler on my site... they are pictures of REDS HOT AIR's and GNX423's intercoolers (and some misc pics I got off of the Web). Don't want to take credit for someone elses work. I just posted the pics to my site so that there'd be one place for everyone to get info on the topic.

I have yet to post the pics of my intercooler. One of these days I will get around to taking the front end of the car off to get the photos.

Just wanted to set that straight.

Well, I keep seeing a white TR with the front end off and I thought it was yours.

Sorreeee!

Good luck this weekend.

No problem. Like I said, I don't want to take credit for someone elses work. I'm glad the info on the site was usefull for you!

The white Regal is Reds Hot Air's car.

Intercooler

Where did you get the power stroke intercooler at for $75.00???Thanks

I got mine (all aluminum version) for $125 from a guy in AZ who was parting out a wrecked truck.

Link didn't work for me either, but I've seen it before.

After further research on the unit, I have decided not to give it a try. I can go as far as my goal (11.50's) with the IC I have on the car now. I Just need to catch the right wheather.

Thanks for the info guys and good luck to everyone using it.

Sorry about the link. Another car here in Indy with similar set up and 55lb'ers and ported heads went 10.60's @ 124mph
