I had a feeling this would happen, but I just purchased the DSE front frame braces for use on my set up and having a larger stock location IC makes it impossible to install in their originally intended position. Pretty sure it's the same with most if not all front frame braces. I really don't want to (a) send them back or (b) buy a front mount.

My question is, has anyone had success changing the mounting location or spacing them down a bit so they clear a stock location IC? What did you do? Do you have any pictures? It doesn't necessarily have to be DSE braces, any braces/pics will do.

TIA

Good idea he had. Wish he was still around to make me one of those plates lol
Thank you for the reply. I Didn't even think of doing it that way

Just move them down on the frame crossmember and drill new holes, use self tapping bolts.

You may want to consider Mark's brace designed for turbo Buick's. Give him a call to make sure it will work with your stretch SLIC before going through the hassle of exchanging it. It also includes the cross brace to tie the two braces in the DSE kit together. Just another option.

Doesn't look like that would work with an aftermarket slic, certainly not the Precision IMHO.

These do not fit with the stretched stock location I/C

Alright. Good to know. I haven't crawled under to look at mine in awhile.
