Has anybody purchased these? They allow you to eliminate the steel reinforcement behind the front bumper. Just curious if anybody has had problems with the installation, etc. A guy with the user ID of corvettekillr sells these on eBay from time to time.

TIA

i bought some from him about a year ago and installed them .. it wasnt hard took about an hour and half.. the bumper is pretty heavy so make sure not to let it drop on your chest or pop you in the jaw .. that really hurts .. ;)

I bought a set from him this last summer and put on my GN.They fit great.

Thanks guys - any problems getting it to sit straight with the brackets?

Does the weight of the reinforcement plate that you can eliminate by using the brackets justify purchashing them?

If so, I think I will pick up a set.

Thanks again for the help!
Rich

Do a search on "bumper brackets" in the tech section. You can still buy these for about $10 a piece from a parts warehouse.

Check this Thread for specific info.

Bust out a hack saw and make your own. The stock steel supports are "worthless" (can be had for shipping cost from someone who has converted to AL) so you won't ruining anything of value.

I MADE MY OWN BUT WERE TWO FLIMSY FOR STEEL BUMPERS. WORKS GREAT ON FIBREGLASS BUMPERS, THOUGH. ;)
