Anyone been shot with a Taser?

I just went through Taser certification today. Part of the certification was being shot with it and having to shoot someone else with it. DAMN , I don't care how bad you think you are, you will not beat it. I thought I could keep from hitting the floor, wrong. I could not believe how fast it took me down. I almost felt bad shooting one of the other guys in the class.

The only good thing about it is when the switch is turned off it's over, no recovery time. Unlike O.C. spray where you recover for an extended period of time.

One took the belt and had burn marks for over a week.

My other bro stepped up and was the first and took the darts. He said it was the longest 5 sec ever.

I'm not familiar with the belt. Yes it was a very long 5 seconds. I was concerned about pulling the darts out after, but I only felt a small tug.

Here in Jacksonville (JSO) the first one up gets the darts. Everyone after gets a belt strapped on around the waist.

A officer on each side to 'catch' you. My bro wid the belt went to his knees and my other bro wid the darts did not go down.

I watched the vids on everyone...glad I didn't have to do it.

I didnt have to get zapped, but held on to my partner at the time who took the whole ride. I got the jist of the entire excercise.

Ive had it over 3 years now, and only used it once. I have pointed it at countless suspects who have stopped when the laser was on their chest.:wink:

Well after getting shot with it we held on to the wires and held hands and took a hit. That was to teach us to stay away from the wires while hand cuffing a suspect that is getting tased. I said the shot was enough to make me not want shocked again

my brother got me with one, not the one that shoots into you but the one you jab into somebody. It hurt but I didnt fall to the floor. The one that shoots into and pierces you probably hurts more.

Ive seen a lot of videos of law enforcement and suspects being Tasered. I have yet to see anyone coherent ever be able to stand up to it. They all fell rocks falling out of the sky. Ive seen a couple of videos where a suspect (that was high as a kite, probably on meth) stay standing. Thats it. Id think the leaner and more muscular you are the harder the hit since you will have a lot more electrolytic water at the point of entry for the darts to transfer the current to. If you a big fat ass it might be a little less of a hit.

I've had mine for 3.5 years and have only had to shoot 1 shiot bag with it so far...worked like a charm! I'm sure glad I had it too, he was a methed out and drunk prison POS that wanted to fight real bad...after 5 seconds he had no fight left in him:biggrin:

Most people that do not go down when Tazered its due to improper circuit completion. For those who are not familiar, means that the darts have not been able to complete the connection thu the body.

Also the wider the space in between the darts the more effective the tazer is.

In training they show a guy that was tazered thru the eye! Wanna talk about pain? They were able to remove the dart without too much damage to the eye !
