We will be there with Bobby Dons new car.We hope to turn it down and run in the 9.50-9.99 range.Hope to see eveyone there.

schedule ?

Any details as to what is happening each day?
I believe OC Cantrell will be there. Low 9 or better car.

Dennis will probably be there with the Mustang. I'm predicting better than a low 9. :D

I plan on Taking the mustang. It should be in the high 8's.I talked to Dan at
DLS and he said he might take Joe lubrants car there.which has gone 8.6's

Dennis

88 mustang gt 9.10 at 153mph (Buick powered)
Winner of Q8 at midwest challange 2003
Runner up Q8 at midwest challange 2002

for the car show, am I allowed to enter my TTA? I might be interested in doing that on Saturday if I can, otherwise I'll probably come out and spectate.

I might bring my Camaro if I can make it. Expecting high 10's at a supra-like 13X MPH.

Midwest challenge

I'll be there. Just got to find my electrical gremlin. Always pops up at the most inop time. Sam hope you come would be good seeing your new ride sound and looks good. My son is bringing his car also.

Steve :D

I hope O.C. is comming. What about Fiscus does anyone know is he is going to make it?If Dan runs Joes car we should see a good field of 8-9 second cars. :D

so does anyone know the answer to my car show question? I asked it in the other thread in Midwest too.

I swear last time I was there they had a couple of TTAs in the show but cant remember for sure. After last years turnout I think you can get away with getting your car in no matter.

Count me in.

Will be the first time out with this car. Runs strong but never had anything this fast so Im not sure where it will be. My buddy is bringing that GN powered CTS to try to whip me. Should be a whole bunch of bench racing before it goes off. ;)

Sure the car will be fine as it is Buick powered

Glad Chris posted the flier link. . . thanks

Coming to our little event in your back yard Lee ?

I would really like to go to this event but last year the turnout was very small compared to years before. I swear there were less than 40 buicks total and not a single vendor. Years before there was PTE Conleys Cottons HR Parts Caspers and a few more and a ton of cars. What the heck happened? I know we are a dwindling breed but where is everybody?

Midwest challenge

I just blame the economy for this. Ever since 9/11 the event took a turn down but I will always try and support as many as I can get to between work, family, And time frame. Not to mention the overinflated price of gas. I still say it is ruining the economy.

Steve

Anyone need rooms?

I know of a couple that opened up.... Let me know if anyone needs one.

And I thought I answered your question about the TTA under Midwest Challenge....maybe the timing was off. Sorry about that!

I gotta disagree with ya there Steve. Other events are booming (non buick events). The TR has lost alot of its appeal these past few years as the turbo technology has become popular with the V8 crowd. Not to mention the lack of parts available and the difficulty finding a nice TR for a reasonable price. Why would a enthusiast buy and work on a TR when an LS1 or V8 mustang is cheaper, newer (financing requirements), and has more potential power wise? Theres a bigger aftermarket, parts are still available at the dealer, and the online support is MUCH better. Theres also alot more shops who specialize in the mustang/F body/Corvette.

Theres also going to be a naturally decreasing number of TR's on the road every year. Aside from the very few that get restored every year, there are a bunch that get parted, wrecked, stolen, junked, or just plain retired to the barn.

I jumped ship on the buick stuff because despite my best efforts I couldn't get mine to go fast. Every shop that touched it messed it up worse. I have no problem admitting I needed more tuning experience but when theres no one around to help when you're stuck, what do you do? Not to mention I spent an insane amount of money on a car that might go mid 10's at best. Not much return on the investment in my book. The LS1 is a better engine, has a huge (and growing) aftermarket, has shops dedicated to building them, and is cheaper. The power potential is much greater, and you don't have to spend a trillion dollars finding a stage 2 block to go faster. My block is $600 new, you can get them cheaper used.

I enjoyed the buick events, even if I got ass raped buying tickets to go WATCH the nationals in BG.
