Low alky light was dimly lit and plenty of alky in the tank. Thinking the float was stuck again, I checked and saw it was not but discoved that the black plastic piece by the female RCA jack leading to low alky section was broken exposing the soldered wires. Also discoved that the red (plastic?) part that seals the RCA fitting into resorvior appeared to be deteriorating and coming apart. Would the combo of the red pieces coming apart and black plastic part cause the low alky light to dimly light thus not making a proper ground? I'll give Steve a call tommorrow and see what he recommends as to the fix. Anyone else who has experenced a similar problem chime right in.

Your problem comes from corrossion on the connectors. See it doesnt take a lot to lite the low alky LED in the control box. The slighest resistance and that LED will lite dimly. Corrossion usually happens from alcohol splashing or connectors getting wet.

When I had an SMC kit, I eliminated the connectors and soldered the wires directly to the terminals using no connectors. I also put boots from an old Chevy coil pack over the connectors and filled them with silicone. This solved almost all the problems. It didnt address issues with corrossion inside the brass terminals that are mounted on the top of the bottle.

I think Steve has seen many of these problems hence why the new kits the connectors are away from the tank themselves on plug in connectors.

Its one of the few things I disliked about the kit...

Spray some WD40 and use a tooth brush on the terminals..see if that helps..

Lastly if you find a lot of sediment on the bottom of the tank..its probably from the epoxy on the inside brass terminals coming apart.
