I was kicking around te idea of taking a drive to the Nat's this year. I was even thinking I'd take two of my TR's. I'm super-fanatical about leaving the cars unattended (ie: like at a hotel at night) and was wondering if there were others in the area that might be taking the drive over so that we could caravan.

I figure a little strength in numbers...

I've always wanted to drive out there for it. I even have some family in Western KY, but haven't been able to make it in the past. Maybe this will be the year? It's right around 1140 miles taking I40 to Nashville and then up I65. It would be a great caravan drive:D

KY is getting less and less turnout each year.. Indy is the new event thats up and coming :)

Well, maybe we need to get all of the SW TR's to make a trip down there as a show of force. Can't let the Darkside dwindle down and fall by the wayside...

Have you guy's ever driven to BG? It's a hell of a long way. Unless you are planning on racing yourself I'd suggest flying. I'll probably be there myself unless things change. I told Red and Janie I was coming out this year. Last time I went was with Jason Hall back in '02 so a trip to the Nationals is overdue.

Never driven to KY. I've done the drive to SWFL and Back to here with no issues... I suppose it's a long drive but I suppose that's part of the fun. (as long as I don't break- knock on wood) ...

you know it man.. i drove right by it on my drive across the country, it's not fun.. Southwest flies right into Nashville for a round trip price of $150.. rent a car for $150 or so (some what high). drive from Nashville to BG KY is about 1 1/2 hours. $300 bucks, thats not even gas money round trip, and you get some coke & peanuts and a movie

You could split the rental car and share a room with Harold / Kevin (whoever he is that day) and save even more $$. Seriously though, if you're planning on going give me a ring.

I was just kicking the idea around. I always hear such great stuff about the event and I've never even gone!

Lately been considering moving out that way to get away from overpriced/underpaid Kalifornia... figured I might use the trip as an excuse to "scout the AO".
