Anyone going to the "other" Nats this weekend?

Thats right I'm talking about the Rich's Custom Auto/ K&N Filter sponsored Nationals starting Friday at Englishtown.

OK so maybe we aren't sponsoring it and OK maybe Artie, Tommy, Steveo and myself aren't going to be running Funny Car hoping to qualify for Sundays eliminations but we are going.

We hope to catch up with some former Richs Auto/JCC Racing Crew like John Force, Larry Dixon and who can forget Jim "The Platehead Animal Jungle Gym" Romanello.

Anyway we are heading down Friday to watch just wondering if anyone else is going........always love watching the pros run.....they are amazing, technology is amazing and yet no one there ever asks for a group purchase so go figure.

Maybe see some folks there.

Rich....I will be there on Sunday (thanks to troGNman).....The SuperNationals is a great event that every Drag Racing fan should attend at least once! Nothing like watching the worlds top drivers fly down the 1320' at 300+mph!

I've still been waiting years to see Herb fly down the quarter at
'gulp' 97mph

I'll be there Friday to catch the two Top Fuel qualifying sessions.

There's nothing like seeing header flames at dusk!

Also, you can't beat the "in your face" Nitro experience.......Complete loss of breath and temporary blindness from the thick yellow nitro fumes.

Actually, he's changed his burnout procedure. He's now doing it like most others, easing into the throttle vs. nailing it right off the bat and putting on a good show for everyone. He says nailing it puts a lot of extra stress on the blower belt and motor. Guess he's blaming his crappy performance over the recent past on his burnout.... These Ford guys will come up with any excuse for losing....

Actually the last time I ran the car (last fall) it crossed the trap's at 110...

I would love to go to the NHRA Nats with Rich and the crew.

Other than watching the Top Fuel group making a pass I can only dream about (maybe if I ever win the lotto) Just to watch The Chicks go run to John Force the real king of the burn out.

Don't feel bad Rich. It will give you a goal to shoot for

The car ran a 12.9 @ 110, and the run after that it went 12.8 @ 109. This was clearly with a less than ideal launch that netted me a 2.1 60'.....

I did not feel the need to make a post on it...My personal goal was to get my car into the 12's...and I met that goal.

I'm looking forward to going. I haven't been to a national in years. The weather doesn't look too promising though....But low temps and high humidity could make for some fun times.
The last time I was there Force set low ET and was faster then the TF guys...That was a few years ago.>wink<
